Welcome to the official page for Vixen, my Fairmont. Here's a pic of the real thing. Pay no attention to the stinker behind the wheel.

C3 Automatic Transmission, Column Shift
7.25" Rear Differential
185/75R-14 Tires

This car started out as a very mild mannered family car that (from as near as I can tell) was used for exactly that. Then, for whatever reason was given away, sold, or traded in and ended up in the paws of a used car salesman in Longview, Oregon. In the meantime, I was happily putting about in Banshee, my Skylark until one day when picking up Jurrel from work, a piece that had come loose from the crankshaft, caught and blew a hole in the block. So I was out one car.

Banner, deciding I REALLY needed a car (I didn't have a job at this point) found this Fairmont sitting in the dirt lot in Longview. He dragged me with him to take a look at it. I had never heard of this car before (mostly cause I'm more of a GM person myself) and had my misgivings when I saw '4 cyl' scrawled on the window in purple grease chalk. Banner took it for a test drive and deemed it worthy for daily driving. I agreed and $400 later I had another car. As soon as _I_ started driving it, my misgivings turned into major annoyance as I found that not only did nothing in the car work practically, but there was no radio and the engine would peter out randomly when stopped.

Soon after getting her, I dubbed her 'The Vixen'. In trying to fix the many things wrong with the car, I discovered quite a bit of information regarding the Fairmonts and their sibling, the Mercury Zephyr. One of the little gems I discovered was that the chassis the car sat on was called the 'Fox' chassis. I found this amusing as the car is red with a black vinyl top (all stock, I checked). So, it looks like a fox and it's called a fox, it must be a fox right?

Current Setup:
Unfinished 5.0L V8 Engine
AOD (Automatic OverDrive) Transmission, B&M Floorshift
8.8" Posi-Traction Differential 3.74 Ratio
